8th Grade Computers
In 8th Grade, students will dive deeper into Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They will work more independently to complete projects which will develop and fine-tune their abilities on these platforms.
At the end of the quarter, students will design their own website using the tool Wix.
Additionally, we will continue to strengthen our keyboarding skills, completing 10 lessons on TypingTIme throughout the quarter and learn the language of code using Code.org.
Microsoft Word
Students will expand on their knowledge of Microsoft word and it's tools in order to create documents such as business letters and newsletters.
Microsoft Excel
Students will dive deeper in to the uses of Excel using functions, charts and graphs to record and display data.
PowerPoint
Public speaking is the #1 fear of adults in this country. We will focus on how to use PowerPoint to effectively enhance our presentations and keep your audience engaged.
Web Design
Being able to create and manage a website can be a valuable skill. You can find work doing this for others or save yourself money when you make your own business!
